Privacy & POPIA
How we collect, use and protect your personal information, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Last updated: 22 August 2026
01 — Who is responsible
Samzin Clothing is the responsible party for your personal information.
Information Officer: [TO COMPLETE — full name of the Information Officer]
Contact: samzindun@gmail.com · +27 69 738 8915
POPIA requires an Information Officer to be appointed and registered with the Information Regulator. By default this is the owner or head of the business. Registration is a separate step and is not optional.
02 — What we collect
- Contact and delivery details — name, email, phone, delivery address
- Order details — items, sizes, prices, order history
- Payment confirmation — we receive confirmation that payment succeeded. We never see or store your full card number; that stays with the payment provider
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp or email
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device, and how you move through the site
03 — Why we use it, and what is required
To take and deliver your order, handle returns, answer your questions, prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations. Name, delivery address, email and phone are mandatory — without them we cannot deliver. Everything else is optional. Marketing messages are only sent if you opt in, and every one carries an unsubscribe link.
04 — Who else sees it
- Shopify — store, checkout and order management
- Payment providers — to take payment
- Couriers — name, address and phone, to deliver
- Cloudflare — hosts the website
We do not sell your personal information.
05 — Information leaving South Africa
Shopify and Cloudflare operate servers outside South Africa, so your information is transferred, stored and processed abroad. POPIA s72 permits this where the recipient is bound by comparable protections — both operate under contractual data-protection commitments.
06 — How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept for 5 years, as South African tax law requires. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept for 12 months.
07 — Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what we hold, get a copy, correct it, delete it where we have no lawful reason to keep it, object to processing, or withdraw consent to marketing. Email samzindun@gmail.com and we respond within 30 days. We may verify your identity first.
08 — Cookies
The site uses cookies needed to run the cart and checkout, and to understand which pages are used. Blocking them in your browser is possible, but the cart will not work without the essential ones.
09 — Complaints
Raise it with us first. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) — enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
